Position Summary 

Reporting directly to the Facilities Management the Facilities Maintenance Tech will be responsible for performing daily maintenance and repairs on utility systems and building systems in an FDA-regulated environment at Scorpius BioManufacturing.

Key Responsibilities/SKILLS

• Perform maintenance both corrective and preventive on building, equipment and systems.
• Perform routine checks
• Maintain proper FDA-required documentation for all activities.
• Ability to read, follow, and understand Standard Operating Procedures
• Maintain building aesthetics as required for an FDA-regulated facility.
• Process work orders in a computerized maintenance management system.
• Change out process gas tanks.
• Work in a collaborative team environment and interact with other support groups such as Engineering, Operations, and Quality Assurance.
• Requires a strong safety-oriented mentality for all performed tasks.
• Provide responsive customer support with an emphasis on customer satisfaction
• Light plumbing
• Light carpentry
• Participate in on-call rotation
• Respond to bldg. and process equipment alarms

Education & Experience

• 5 plus years of Facilities/Bldg. Maintenance and/or construction-based trades
• Knowledge and use of use of basic hand tools and meters.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Environment

• Flexibility is required for working hours. Some weekend work may be needed and earlier or later start/finish times may also be required.
• Able to climb ladders
• Requires working in clean rooms with full gowning.
• Requires defined PPE during certain activities or within certain environments
• While performing the job duties, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee may sometimes be required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
