Position Summary 

Reporting directly to the cGMP Facilities Manager the Sr. Facilities Maintenance Tech will be responsible for performing daily operations, maintenance and repairs on utility systems, manufacturing equipment and building systems in a highly regulated, cGMP environment with minimal supervision at Scorpius BioManufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

Maintaining cGMP processing equipment including but not limited to:

    • Water systems including RO/DI and WFI quality water systems generation & distribution
    • Clean steam generation
    • Clean compressed air
    • Autoclaves
    • Industrial glass washers
    • Compressed medical grade gases and distribution equipment
    • Ultra-low freezers
    • -20 freezers
    • 2-8 deg refrigeration systems
    • N2 generation system
    • Incubators
    • Bio safety cabinets
    • Assorted lab equipment

Maintain utility support systems including but not limited to:

    • Elect steam generators
    • Chillers
    • Power generators
    • Pumps & motors
    • HVAC components

Knowledge & Skills 

  • Interpret P&IDs, architectural drawings, equipment/system layouts, wiring diagrams, and specifications in planning and performing maintenance and repairs.
  • Author/revise maintenance procedures, for various clean utility systems
  • Perform startup, commissioning and validation activities as required.
  • Work in a collaborative team environment and interact with other support groups such as Engineering, Operations and Quality Assurance.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing process related equipment both within and outside of a cleanroom environment
  • Completing and providing accurate documentation as required in cGMP operations.
  • Familiarity with Bldg. Management Systems
  • Strong trouble shooting/problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Requires a strong safety-oriented mentality for all performed tasks
  • Provide responsive customer support with emphasis on customer satisfaction
  • Participate in on-call rotation

Education & Experience

  • 8 plus years of Facilities Maintenance in cGMP environments
  • Ability to interpret drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams
  • Experience with WFI grade water systems
  • Experience in coordinating contractors, vendors & suppliers.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills

Physical Requirements and Working Environment

  • Flexibility is required for working hours. Some weekend work may be needed and earlier or later start/finish times may also be required.
  • Able to climb ladders
  • Requires working in clean rooms with full gowning
  • Requires defined PPE during certain activities or within certain environments
  • While performing the job duties, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee may sometimes be required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
